CLINTON, January 15. A proclamation is to be gazetted shortly reserving the whole of the disr: trjot, indnding Milford Soand, as a National Park. TMs step is the outcome of a recommendation from the Superintendent of the Tourist Department to the Minister in charge of the department, bv whom it was forwarded to the Cabinet, urging that the reservation be sanctioned. The SoutMand Land Board have been instructed to report to and advise the Commissioners about to bo appointed under the Scenic Preservation Act passed last session. It is anticipated that the greater part of roe district will be reserved, inducting Milford Sound and the other great national assets of its kind in the fiord districts. Sir J. G. Ward, who has frequently visited the district, tdb me that he regards it us a place that will for all time be a great attraction to tourists as well as to our own people, and will be of inestimable value to the future of the country.
