The advance which continues to be made in the butter industry in Auckland province is evidenced by the increase in the exports for 1903. From the commencement of the season tfll January 5 last the total quantity of butter exported fi-om Auckland to the London market was 24,038cwt, vhile, in addition, nearly 200 boxes went to the South African market, making a total expert ai 25,000cwt. Three new factories have been started during the year.
