MISSIONARY MEETING.
A very interesting and well-attended mis? smeary meeting was held oil Saturday evening at the Y.W.C.A. Rooms (Sister Clare presiding), when the Alisses Reid, who have recently returned from China, gave two very interesting addresses. Mifs Lily Reid narrated how they and other missionaries escaped with their lives to Shanghai durin" the riots in China. She also gave several touching incidents of how a number of native Christians willingly laid down their lives for the truth, even children. Miss H. Reid followed, and told of the great need of more workers in China, after "which she unveiled a photo of the late Miss Jensen, who was the Y.W.C.A. representative in China, and suggested that in memory to her the Y.W.C.A. send out another worker. Appropriate hymns • were sung. At the same place on Wednesday last a welcome social was accorded the Misses Reid, Mrt Aslin presiding. Mrs Driver and Sister Clare took part in the proceedings. The missionaries were attired in native dress on. both occasions.
