It is officially announced that P»ussia has fortified Yonganrpho, which is regarded as an infringement of the integrity of Corea. General Pavloff explains the legend of the reported Russian occupation of Corea through private forest concessionaires employing 2,000 Russian laborers, who were mistaken for Cossacks because they were following their ancient traditions, and insisted upon carrying sword, bayonets, and long knives. DISTURBING RUMORS. TOKIO, October 23. (Received October 29. at 10.48 a.m.) It is reported here that- • 200 Russian soldiers had crossed the Tumen River. _[TLe Tumen separates Manchuria from Northern Corea.]
