LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION

The annual meeting of the Otago Lawn Tennis Association, held last evening in the Stock Exchange Braidings, was attended by Mr J. L. Sahnond (president, in the chair), Mr Monkman (vice-president), and Messrs Baachop, Vennall, Harraway, Dr Stephenson, Begg, and Hislop, who represented the Port Chalmers, Otago, Kaitnna, North-east Valley, and Invercargi]l Associations. In moving the adoption of the report, the President congratulated the Association on the past year's results, and on the fact that tennis was making progress in public popularity. He hoped this yearito see more ctabs added to the Association, and to see more matches played in the B and lower grades. In regard to finances, the present was the first year the Association had commenced operations without an overdraft The report and balance-sheet having been adopted unanimously, the following officebearers were elected: —President, Mr J L Salmond (re-elected, Mr W. T. Monkman refusing to take the office until Mr Salmond had filled it another year); vice-presidents Messrs Monkman and J. S. Hislop ; secretary and treasurer, Mr Guy H.
