CRIMINAL SITTINGS.

WANGANUI. The criminal sessions were the shortest on record. Only two bills were presented to the Grand Jury, and these were'thrown out. They were from Taihape, the charges being assault and robbery and entering a house bv night with intention to intimidate. Four prisoners were brought up for sentence. Two were remanded till Friday for breaking and entering, and two boys (eleven and thirteen) - were admitted to probation on a charge of burning down the Crofton School. This concluded the criminal business. The Chief Justice congratulated the district on the lightness of the calendar.
