WELLINGTON FIRE RISKS.
The superintendent of the Wellington Municipal Fire Brigade, in his report, covering twelve months' working, states that the total lo?s in the city by fire during the vear was £10,629. The superintendent remarks : " The fire at Colney Hatch Lutiat c Asylum in January serves to brine home an exactly similar catastrophe to whirh we may be subject in Wellington at Mount View Asylum. Ever since my arrival here I have dreaded the consequences of a fire takine place at that institution." He continues that the Government have not been neglectful, and that their officers had taken every precaution possible in the buildings as they exist.
