(Received May 22, at 10.35 a.m.) The Legislative Council parsed the Strike Bill without amendment. Both Houses passed the Treasury Bonds Bill. The action brought by Martell against the Victorian Miners* Union for £I,OOO damases ended in a verdict for defendants, the Judffe being of opinion that combination was the strength of a union, and that the exclusion of certain persons by a union was not an illegal act. [Martell claimed £I,OOO damages owin* to loss of employment. The union refused to admit him as a member, and the miners declined to work with him, so the collierv company were compelled to dispense with his services.]
