(Received May 22, at 9.10 a.m.) In committee in the House of Commons on the clause in the City of London Education Bill dealing with representation the Government's proposal for the admission of twelve borough councillors to the Loudon Educational Committee' was carried. The majority of forty-one included twentyfive Nationalists, while thirty Unionists voted with the minority. [The following is a summary of the chief provisions in the Bill:—(1) The London County Council to be the educational authority ; (2) the borouuh councils to have the management of schools; (3) an education committee of ninety-seven members to be set up, comprising county councillors, representatives of the borough councils, experts, voluntary school representatives, women, and for the first five years five members of the present School Board. The great feature of the Bill is its abolition of the old School Boards established under Mr Foster's Act of 1870.]
