SPORTING INTELLIGENCE

HARRIERS. The Port Chalmers Harriers had their usual run on Saturday afternoon, starting from the Sawyers Bay School. Messrs R. Bauchop and N. M'Donald laid the trail past the Sawyers Bay Hall, across the paddocks to and around the reserve, up the hill at the back, across the bilk at the foot of Mount Cargill, on to the Sawyers Bay road, around the tannery, and home. The run took a little over an hour. The pack was in charge of Mr J. R. Moore, while Mr Frank Keenan was whipper-in. Next Saturday’s run is with the Dunedin' Harriers from-Normandy.

At the monthly meeting of the Otago Rowing Association (Mr A. E. Gascoigne, vice-president, in the chair) a full attendance of delegates was present. It was derided to hold the annual supper and presentation of prizes on July 8, and a reduction in the price of tickets was made to all Port Chalmers men. The matter of a champion pennant for the head boatshed on the water was left over. A well-known supporter has promised a fine challenge trophy for the same end. A sUb-com-mittee was appointed to go into ways and means should the championship regatta be allotted to the centre for next season. The secretary reported- a new club under way at Queenstown, and it was resolved to give the movement all the support possible. The Waihola regatta had proved a financial success.
