ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS.

Douglas Towsey, wliile employed working a boring machine at Reid and (iray's premises this afternoon, had his hand caught and ciushed by the machine. Tovrsev was removed to the hospital, where it was found that besides losing some of his fingers he had sustained a very severe shaking. Two of the Drainoge'Board's employees— Richard Davis and James Culleas—were received into the hospital this forenoon suffering from injuries received owing to an explosion of gas whOo they were engaged inspecting a sower in George street. °Both men were severely, but not seriously, burned about the face and hands. They were attended to by the house surgeon, and sent to their homes. The accident was, wo understand, caused by the men going down into the sewer with* a naked light.
