In the v receptly Mtajr Richards .obtained a judgment agmnst one Herbert Birch, draper's- salesman,. for breach of pronnse ( of , Bhxh p subsequently filed a 'schedule in" t baakruptcy, his assets being oat down afc, nil. and bis liabilities at £l3l, the amount of judgment and cost* arising oat of the breach of promise esse. The defendant come op for mtnnunation to-day before the Assignee! He staged tfoatjiis wages were £4 weekly, out of winch he ooid 25s a week for board and 7s for mala in town. He tctinwted that it cost him £75 per annum to dress. He was -unable to moke any offer. In March last he Lid £2OO, but had since given his sister sixty-three guineas to buy a piano, and had presented his father wifciu £4O. He had pud £69 in legal expenses, ,-md the remainder of the •money had gone in incidentals. The Assignee adjourned the examination sine die, remarking that the debtor would have to go before the Court for his discharge -within four months.
