LATE MINING
The Nelson Creek Gold Dredging Company have declared a dividend (the fourteenth) .of Is per share, payable on the 27th ins'. .The slump in Alexandra L?ad stock, V.Oginning at yesterday afternoon’s call and con tinning throughout to-day, betokens the very sensitive condition of the market. The secretary informs us that the latest tews from the dredge was received yesterday, when the dredge-master wire) that the wash not so good, and the mats were not looking as well as last week. The river was steady. Conridering that the company have over £5,000 in bund, we should sav, had wo not noticed similar incidents in tie past, that the drop was unexnlainable. A mistake was evidently, made in transmitting yesterday’s telegram from the dredge- master of the Alpine No. 2) He wires to-day that it should have been: “Can keep on bottom easily.” He will wash up to-morrow. A good'return is anticipates DUNEDIN EXCHANGE. This afternoon’s sales:—Alexandra Lead, 14/6. 14/3. 1453, 14/, 14/, 13/9, 13/6. 13/6, 12/6. 13/, 13/ (final quote, buy 12/6. eel 13/); A.pme No. 2, 17/, 17/; First Chance, 13 1, 13/; Gentle Annie, 5/Is, S/.
