LONDON. July 9. At tie ■wool sales Messrs Buxton and Ronald, Balme and Co., and Jacoiub and Son offered 12,630 biles. It was a wretched selection, chiefly inferior New Zealand cross-bred. There was a full .attendance and good competition, chiefly amongst Homo buyers. Merino was very firm; with an upward tendency. Medium and fine cross-bred were unchanged. Coarse were at par to 5 per cent, easier comp ed with closing ales of the last series. (Received July 10, at 1.19 p.m.) Merinoes and fine cross-breds are very fiiro; low qualities are irregular. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have received the following cable from their London office:—“ The sales opened with prices ruling in sellers’ favor for merino and fine cross-bred, and prices ruling in buyers’ favor for coarse cross-bred. Competition by both Home and foreign buyers is active.” WELIINGTON, July 10.—The Department of Industries and Commerce rectiv d to-day the following cablegram from the Agent-General;—“ Wool sales commenced; good competition. Fine cross-bred and merino firm, 5 per cent, advance; coarse cro-s-bred, in large supply, 5 per cent, decline.” “
