LAWN TENNIS.

On Saturday afternoon an attempt was made to play off some of the unfinished events of the Otago Lawn Tennis Association's matches, but only two were played. This was due to the wetness of the courts, which deadened the balls very considerably. The finals of the Men's Handicap Doubles were played, when Salmond and White (owe 40) beat Boyd and Irvine (owe 3-6 of 15), 9—B, in the semi-finals, and the winners beat T. Gray and J. L. Salmond (scratch), 9—2, in the final. The first match was brilliantly played, and proved oue of the most interesting contests of the tournament. One match in the third round of the Combined Doubles was played—that between E. Salmond and Miss Campbell (owe 30) beat Bauchop and Miss Bauchop (rec. 15), 9—4, after a very good match. The remainder of the matches will be played on Saturday nest should the weather suit.
