THE CORONATION CONTINGENT.

Two natives of the Arawa tribe, Aperama and Ehare, tine specimens of the Maori r;ico, have been chosen from the Rotorua district to take jmrt in the Coronation ceremonies with the Maori Contingent. Trooper Apess/ who vent Home with the Maori-section of the Diamond Jubilee Contingent: Trooper Paxaia, a son of Mr Pratt, M.H.li. ; and Trooper Busscll—all of Otago —have gone to Wellington to try and hecure places in the native section of the contingent. WELLINGTON, April 7.

It is understood tliafc the command of the Coronation Contingent will Im> offered to Colonel Porter, now commanding the Seventh New Zealand Contingent in South Africa.
