MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES

The weekly meeting of tbe Pioneer of Dunedin Lodge, 1.0. G.T., was held in the Choral Hall on Tuesday, There was a good attendance. Sister Martin, from Christcbnrch, was accorded a hearty welcome. Three candidates were initiated. Harmony was contributed by Sis. MTarlaue (piano solo), Bio. Mackie (song), Sis. Thomas (recitation), Bro. M'Farlane (song), temperance readings by Bro. D. C. Cameron and others, and a song by Bro. Robertson The vote of thanks to the visitors and those contributing harmony was responded to by Sis. Martin (who conveyed the fraternal greetings of the Hope of Christchurch and the Reviving Stream .bodges), Sis. Bathgate (Dawn of Victory), Bro. M'Farlane (Lily), Sis. South (Hope of Gavershani), and Bro. Mockford (Hope of Dunedin). The Ivanhoe* Lodge, of Druids held their fortnightly meeting in the Oddfellows' Hall, Albany street. There was a fair attendance, A.D. Bro. E. S. Moss presiding. Bra Oldenburg responded to tbe toast of the visitors. The lodge then went into harmony, and a pleasant evening' was spent, P.A. Bra Isaacs presiding at the piano. Receipts, £23 19s. There was a large attendance at the Royal Oak Lodge, U.A.0.D.. on Monday evening, the attraction being the visit of the Olive. Branch of Juvenile Druids. A.D. Bro. R. Lindsay presided. Official visits were received from the Ivanhoe, Otago, and Pride of Mornington Lodges. After business the lodge went into harmony songs, recitations, and instrumental items being given by the juvenile and adult members. Bros, Haymes, Butler, and Easton, on beh;Jf of the juveniles, thanked iJie Royal Oak Lodge for an enjoyable evening's entertainment.
