NAVALS' CAMP.

The Dunedin Naval Artillery Volunteers broke camp on Monday night after a very successful sixteen days' tTaining. The average attendance throughout the camp was 99.5 men. The examinations have been concluded, eighty-five having passed and gained their silver gun badge, which carries with it a personal payment of £l. About forty of the above, who have passed threo years successfully, are entitled to wear a special cross gun badge, ami receive in, addition a grant of £2 per man. The competitive big gun practice was held at the end of the camp, and the company established a good score. A iotal ntoiber of sixteen shots were fired from the 6in gun and sjxteen direct hits recorded. The 64pounder fired twenty-Bine shots and scored eighteen hits, this being so far the second beat performance in the colony and the highest in the Son& Island.
