LATE SHIPPING.
ARRlVED.—February 5.
Westralia, s.s., 1,819 tons, Waller, from Melbourne via Hobart and the Bluff. Passengers: Misses Cragg, Storey, Mesdanies Eggleston, Cragg (4), Grierson, Curtis, Smith, W&ugh and two children, Messrs Miller, Grierson, Noyes, Waugh, Smith, Hunter (2), Cragg (8), Poole, Swain, and Fray; and twenty steerage.
The dredge Timani is expected to leave Port Chalmers to-morrow for Timara.
A large steamer and a grey-painted barque were reported from the Nuggets at 10 a.m. to-day, standing north. The Westralia left Melbourne at 5.30 p.m. on the 29th ulfc, arrived at Hobart at 6.15 a.m. on the 31st, sailed at 2.15 p.m., arrived at the Bluff at 3 p.m. yesterday, left at 4.35 this morning, and, making a smart passage up the coast, passed Cape Saunders at 1 p.m., and berthed at the cross wharf at 3.40 this afternoon. From Melbourne to Hobart had light, variable winds and smooth seas, and from Hobart to Milford Sound heavy N.W. to N.E. winds, with high beam seas." On reaching the New Zealand coast the wind increased in strength, accompanied by thick, rainy weather. The vessel was hove-to for eight hours during the night of the 3rd hist., the Bluff not being reached until 3 p.m. the following afternoon. Fine, clear weather prevailed from the Bluff to Dunedin. Her cargo included transhipments ex Grosser Kurfurst, Austral, Magdeburg, Coolgardie, and Frederich der Grosse. TO-MORROW'S STEAMERS. The Moura, from Auckland via East Coast ports, is expected to berth at the Jetty street wharf between six and seven o'clock to-morrow morning. The Westralia, for Sydney via Lyttelton and Wellington, leaves the cross wharf at 2 p.m. to-morrow. TELEGRAPHIC NOTICE BOARD.
