THE NAVAL CAMP.

On Saturday last Lieutenant-colonel Robin went out to the battery and inspected the men at their work. An ambulance competition was held for prizes presented by Surgeon-captain Fulton and Lieutenant-commander Allen respectively. The team under P.O. Davis pulled off the first honors, Leading - gunner Fraser's combination being awarded second prize. The flag signallers are drilling every evening with a view to examination, a-nd the gun-laying tests were carried on through the past week P.O. Coates, Leading-gunner Crawford, and Gunner Mitchell have passed all their tests. There are a number of others who h«ve yet to complete their examination. The shooting competition takes place at the Heads on the ovo of breaking up camp. A large number of visitors took advantageto visit the camp on Sunday, when the N avals' Band played a programme of popular music, which was greatly appreciated.
