LAKE LOGAN.

The Lake Logan Improvement Committee held an important meeting last night to arrange for calling for tenders to pot the gates in order, and to discuss the taking over of the baths. Mr M. Cohen wrote regretting his inability to attend. The plan and spsdficat ion furnished by the city engineer were fully discussed, and some additions suggested which will be submitted for Mr Rogers's approval. It was decided to^ advertise for tenders in to-night's ‘ Star.’ The residents round the lake have, m common with those living along the foreshore of the Upper Harbor, ouflansa from the unpleasant odors begotten of tb* present hot weatijer, but tie inpWMMull now about to be carried out will entirely obviate the nuisance so far as the lake M concerned. The opinion was nnanimoaaly expressed that the numerous drains dmcharging into the bay were the chief cause of the unpleasantness, and that a strong effort should be made to induce the Corporation to complete the main drain in Harbor terrace right through to the Lekh, and connect the bouses on the foreshore therewith. If this were done there would be no difficulty in keeping the lake and baths free from objectionable deposit. i t The representatives of the swimming dobs being engaged at the St. Clair tournament, it was decided to go into ■ the question of taking over the baths at a meeting to be held next Monday evening, and to formulate proposals to be submitted to the (Sty Council. _______
