NELSON’S 60th BIRTHDAY.

THE WEATHER AGAIN FINE

[Pm United Press Association.] NELSON, February 4. The Premier, Sir J. G. Ward, and the Hon. C. H. Mills were entertained at a banquet last evening by tho citizen?. The mayor presided, and there was a large representative attendance. The function was a great success. This morning Sir J. G. Ward received a number of deputations in regard to local wants. In respect to the question of increased post office accommodation, the Postmaster-General said that the matter would be carefully investigated at once, in order to decide whether the present building could be extended, or whether a new office should be erected. If the new building is determined on a sit© would have to be chosen at once. The weather is again excellent for the continuation cf tho jubilee.
