THE SIXTH CONTINGENT.

WELLINGTON, January 25. Thn following troopers who returned by the Orient- have been appointed acting-licu-tenants in the Sixth Contingent, subject to their appointments being confirmed by the Imperial authorities at the front:—Corporals Morrison, Macdonald, and Mitchell Privates Wood, Wallis, and Blenkhorn. Captain Smith, of the Raglan Mounted Rifles, who came into camp expecting to get a commission in the Sixth, is not going to Scuth Africa.
