On June 21 the Bank of New South Wales deposited at the Mint 65,5590z of gold, in ingots, for coinage. The weight, which even in ounces looks stupendous, is more readily grasped when it is stated to be over two tons j and, taking the gold roughly at £4 per ounce, this represents an approximate value of £282,238. The deposit is the largest ever made at the Sydney Mint at one trine, though the Bank of New Sonth Wales on a previous occasion deposited just over two tons. THE bHARE MARKET.
