CASUALTIES.
At the inquest held at. Drummond on Monday on Hie Itody of Hie late Mr Allan Jones (an unsuccessful litigant in a law case at Invercargill last week), wltioh was found in a water hole near his residence on balurday night, Mrs Jones stated that, the deceased was very excited when he armed homo on .Saturday. He made out a document disposing of his landed property to his two sons, and made provision for his wife and daughters, besides directing whore be should be buried. He then complained of feeling unwell, and went outside, this being the last seen of him alive. A verdict of "Found drowned" was returned. The ‘ 1 unuru Post ’ states that a little girl named Agnes Eily O’Neill, aged seventeen months, daughter of Mr E. O’Neill, of Rangatira Valley (near Tennika), was acci dentally drowned on Saturday. When the child was missed her sister went to look for her, and found her in a creek with her head under some thin ice. with which the creek was covered. At the inquest a verdict of “ Accidental death by drowning ” was returned.
