PUBLICATIONS RECEIVED.

The ‘ New Zealand Illustrated Magazine’ for April is a decided advance, in the way of illustrations and quantity of matter, over previous numbers. The price has also been reduced; and the mage zee, with its eighty p>gesof story, essay, poetry, review, and criticism, is well worth the cost, and indicative, we hope, of a perminent high-class colonial monthly that will be apprec'ated.by all. We have received a ‘ Student’s Handbook of the University of Otago’ from the Christian Union in connection with that institution. It is a neatly-bound handy little book, and contains much useful information, besides a calendar and sketch of tbe University.
