WELLINGTON, February IG. The ‘ Now Zealand Time*,’ commeutiug on the fact that tho rateable value of properly in the City of 'Wellington increased last year by £20,389, declares that it is growing in population and wealth more rapidly than any other city in the colony. From 1891 to 1898 Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Wellington increased in population 23, 13, 7, and 38 per oent, respectively. Excluding Government buildings, schools, etc., the total value of rateable property amounts to £7,283,100.
