OTAGO EARLY SETTLERS’ ASSOCIATION.

A committee meeting, held in Air Duncan’s office on Monday evening, was attended by Alcssrs John Reid (president), R. N. Adams, P. Duncan, W. G. Somerville, Dr Fulton, and L. Langhmds (secretary). The Secretary reported that he had written to the secretary of the Southland Pioneer Settlors* Association for tho purpose of establishing friendly relations with that body, and tendering on the part of his Association a cordial welcome to all the gatherings held here. This action was approved, and hope was expressed that any members visiting Dunedin would make themselves known, so that the hand of friendship could be extended to them. It was resolved that thoh classification of photographs for the historic groups he commenced at mice. The secretary expected to have all (he yet unpaid subscriptions in by the end of the month.

Alcssrs John Reid (president), D. Reid. jun. (chairman of committee). G. C. Proudfoot (treasurer), Dr Fulton, and L. Langhmds (secretary)’were appointed a committee to arrange for a reunion on 23rd Alarch (Anniversary Day) to celebrate the jubilee of the arrival of the ships Berkshire, Lady Nugent, and Mariner (second voyage).

Regret was expressed at Hie heavy obituary list (twenty-four), particularly tho loss of Vicepresident James Elder Brown, whoso sendees and gifts had been so valuable to the Association.
