MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
The weekly meeting of the Pioneer of Dunedin Lodge, 1.0. G.T., was held in the Lower Choral Hall on Tuesday evening. lire. D. 0. Cameron, C.T., presided, and here was a fair attendauce of members and visitor*. One candidate was eleoted to membership. Bro. Mitchell (ship Oamaru) «poke to the good of the Order, and nonveyed fraternal greetings from a numor of American and fiiitish lodges. Dunne (C.T. Hope of Caversham), Bro. -Lmipton (Star of Rodyn). The quarterly meeting of the Dunedin branch of the Hibernian Society was held on .he 13lhinst., a large number of members being present. Amongst other correspondence a circular from the New Zealand friendly Societies' lutftcharge of Medical Keuefits Association wa3 read, the object being to bring the present Association under he operation of the FrienrUy Societies Act. !hc idea conveyed in the circular was ■varmly reeommended, and the secretary >vas instructed to write accordingly. The secretary was also instructed to write to the liatriot secretary of the Otago District, U.U 1.0 OF., congratulating the members on attaiuing and celebrating tho jubilee of 'heir Order, and wishing them further -:uccess in their useful work. Tho following nominations wero received for the various offices:—President, Bro. J. Ford; vice-president, Bro. J. Beurke and Bro. J. O'Neill; secretary, lire J. O'Connor; measurer, Bro. 1). O'Mahonoy ; warden, ISro. J. Williams; gutudian, Bro. W. J. Casey ; sick visitors, Bro?. Casey and Curlin; mditors, Bros. J. Hally and W. Carr.
