Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin (subject to any necessary alterations), as under : Overland, Btorth, daily, 10.20 a.m. Late letters, 10.45 a.m., also on the mail van up to 11 a.m. Books and newspapers. 10 a,m. Late-fee letters must bear, in addition to the ordinary postage -Id for inland letters, 2d for letters for Australia and the South Sea Islands, 2Jd for all other places. Wednesday, November 2. For Lyttelton, Christchurch, and Northern Ports. —Per Mararoa, at 4 p.m. DIRECT MAIL SERVICE. Tuesday, November 1. The direct steamer Kaikoura will leaye Wellington for Plymouth via Monte Video on Thursday, 3rd. Mails dose here as under; — For United Kingdom and foreign' countriw, etc., on Tuesday, Ist, at 10 a.m. Parcels mails for the United Kingdom, etc., will close at 9.30 a.m. on the Ist,
