The southern cold snap extended last night to Wellington in the shape jof a sou'wester. Southerly weather here almost invariably has easting in it, and it is a year since a sou'-weater was experienced. .A warm rain would have been welcome, ad a good fall is badly needed, but the cold showers will do harm to the stock, while there was not enough to materially help the pastures. _____________ Tie Petone Rifle Club will be represented at b~« Federal meetiuj? in Sydney by W.
