RAILWAY STATISTICS.

The figures extraoted by Mr W. W. Charters from the Railway Statement laid on the table of the House of Representatives last month qontain, in a small compass, a vast amount of interesting information concerning the great highways of the colon). The first table deals with the ordinary truffle on the " port" lines for the year that ended on March 31 last, and may be quoted in full:-

Towards this amount (says the 'Lyttelton Times') the Christchurch Meat Company contributed £24,098 and the Belfast Company £15,768.
