ROSLYN TRAMWAY CHARGES.
TO THE EDITOR. SIR,—I wish to call attention through your columns to an exorbitant case of overcharging—either this or else the charges are absurdly high. A visitor to Dunediu last week wished to go up to Bi*hnpscourt, and took a seat in the ftoslyn car accordingly and paid 31. Wishing, however, to make a call at York plaoi", the lady broke the journey at that point, but en taking the car again to get up to the shed was charged another Bi. The extension car waa then taken, for which Id vu paid, but, as luck would have it, this one went no farther than tho Council Chambers. So that, after paying a total of ?d, our visitor had to get out and walk the rest of the way. I may state that lam not in any way interested in either of the rival lines, and that this matter is mentioned merely because I consider it ought to be. But if the above is the usual charge, one cannot help stating that there is urgent need for some competition. —I am, etc , Auckland. Dunedin, August 2.
