ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
The body of Victor Tasker, who was drowned at Hotea while playing on logs in a fresh, has been found, and a verdict of " Accidental death " was returned.
A railway platelayer named Edward Lisk, while stopping a loaded trolly on the Auckland line, got his spine fractured, and was sent to the hospital. . Mr F. E. Chapman, the well-known lawyer, met with an accident yesterday morning which will necessitate confinement to his house for some days. While the St; Clair oar was in motion Mr Chapman attempted to get off, but he missed his footing and fell under the oar, one of the wheels coming in contact with his foot, crushing the toes badly. A medical examination revealed the satisfactory fact that, while the crushing of the toes was pretty severe, no bones were broken. On inquiring at his residence thiß afternoon we were informed that Mr Chapman was progressing as favorably as could be expected under the circumßtanoes.
