CITY LICENSING COMMITTEE.

The quarterly meeting of the Dunedin Licensing Committee, held at noon today, was attended by Mr E. H. Carew (chairman), the Hon. D. Pinkerton, and Messrs S. S. Myers, C. R. Chapman, J. Horsburgh, and W. Diokson.

The following transfers were granted : Waverley Hotel, Moray place.—Patrick Moloney to Henry Coughlan. Mr Thornton for applicant. Douglas Hotel, George street.—James Whelan to Alexander Gray. Mr D. D. Macdonald for applicant. Grand Hotel, High street.—William D. Revington to William L. Philp. Mr Bathgate for applicant. Wharf Hotel, Rattray street.—Edward M'Ewen to Leander Pavletich. Mr D. D. Macdonald (instructed by Mr Hanlon) for applicant. Central Hotel, Princes street.—Edmund ifiower to Patrick Moloney. Mr Thornton for applicant. The following temporary transfers were also granted:— Terminus Hotel, Rattray street.—John G. Short to Thomas Cornish. Mr Hislop for applicant. Shamrock Hotel, Rattray street.—Christopher Tilburn to W. J. Coughlan.

There was no . opposition to any of the applications, and the business lasted only, five minutes.
