STRIKE AT BURWOOD COLLIERY.
[Per Press Association.—Copyright.]
SYDNEY, August 21. Because two lads employed as wheelers were paid a little less than the regulation wages the wheelers at Burwood Colliery struck, throwing 240 men out of work. The management contemplate closing down altogether. ° THE LUCKNOW TROUBLE.
The strike at the Lucknow mine has resolved itself into a waiting game. Both sides are confident of victory. The manager, while admitting that he had not yet engaged any practical miners, has taken on sufficient men for the present requirements of the mine. ’ -
