A SWEEPING REPORT.

HOME FOR THE AGED NEEDY AT WELLINGTON. - THE TRUSTEES RECOMMENDED TO RESIGN. THE MASTER AND MATRON INCOMPETENT. “ ENTIRE DISORGANISATION AND DEMORALISATION.” WELLINGTON, August 20. Mesdames Williams and Fitzgerald, the recently-appointed lady visitors to the Home for Aged Needy, submitted a report to the trustees declaring that there is entire disorganisation and demoralisation at the Home. They consider, without making any charges, that, the master and matron should resign. They also consider that the whole of the trustees should resign, and the Home he carried on by commission until the election of the new trustees in January. They further recommend that two of the trustees be women. The trustees admitted the report, but came to no definite arrangement about resigning. [This is the institution the management of which has been persistently attacked by the Rev. H. Van Stavern, and as the outcome of his action the Government instituted an inquiry into the working of the establishment. Mr Kenny, S.M., was the Commissioner appointed by the Government, bub liis report was of a colorless character. The next move was that Mr Van Stavern challenged his fellow trustees to resign in a body, alleging incapacity on their part; but his motion was defeated, the appointment of two lady visitors being, however, conceded. The investigation of the female visitors has led to coals of fire being heaped on the trustees’ heads and to a complete vindication of Mr .Yan Stavern.]
