ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

William Dawn, the painter who fell from the top of a two-storey store in Featherston street, Wellington, yesterday, died in the hospital a few hours afterwards. The accident occurred through the top rung giving way. Dawn, who was sixty years of age, leaves a widow and two children.

As the barque Bella was weighing anchor at Auckland to sail for Kaipara, Captain Nottingham got his leg broken below the knee by the anchor chain. He was taken to his residence, Captain Cape taking charge of the Bella meanwhile.
