He bad with him a considerable quantity of opium, ahd the police snrmiMe that, the pain in hie head becoming unbearable, he went into some cave or unfrequented spot amongst the rocks between here and Butcher Gully and took,an overdose of opium. Search is still belngmadeforhisbodyi The various stories going the rounds about the hoax nearly all contain an element of error, whioh I may Correct by saying that there was no inquest, no Coroner, nor jury. It, wap,, however, j* .complete ‘hoax. The imitation was Wonderfully lifelike, or rather deathlike. The Chinese themselves were deceived.
The police do not entertain any suspicion of foul play. When Wah Jun’s nephew (not his brother) asked him where he was going he made no reply, but simply hung his head and slowly walked away.
