LAWRENCE, October 23. , At to-day’s sitting of the Magistrate’s Court William Bloy, butcher, of Lawrence] who lately became bankrupt, was committed to take his trial at the criminal sittings of the Supreme Court, Dunedin, on the-,'2na December for failing to keep proper books of account, obtaining property on credit by false representations, and contracting debts without reasonable grounds of paying the same. Bail was granted—accused jn £IOO and two sureties of £SO each. Mr Weslejy Turton, of Queenstown, conducted .the prosecution. Mr Hawkins, S.M., presfded. j Loo Kot, the Chinaman concerned in the shooting at the Chinese Camp, was charged by the police at the Magistrate’s Court this morning with shooting Bridget Sing and others with intent to do them grievous bodily harm. A remand for seven days was granted, Dr Neill being of opinion that accused would then be fit to appear. ,
Bridget M'Louchlin, one of the women wounded by Loo Kot, was removed to Seacliff Asylum this morning, having developed symptoms of insanity. . j The ‘Tuapeka Times’ says that 'Dr Newell considers Loo Kot entirely but of danger. , ,
