MELBOURNE, October 23. The Council passed the Retting Suppression Bill through all its stages. A Bill to legalise the payment of 3 per cont, on moneys deposited with the Treasury by the Savings Bank Commissioners has been passed. In tho Assembly the salary of the President of the Council was reduced to £760, that of the Speakers of the House to £I,OOO, and the Chairman of Committees had his salary reduced to £4OO.
ADELAIDE, October 23.
The Government will give the Council another opportunity of considering the salaries reduction question by consenting to raise the minimum from £IOO to £l5O.
