FIRES.

A fire started at 12.30 a.m. on Saturday in the bone dust and tallow works of Mr Garden Watson, at Fairfield. The plant, stock, and buildings, including stables, etc., were completely destroyed. The plant was insured in the North Queensland Office for £9OO, and the buildings in the Norwich Union Office for £3OO.

The fire at Gore on Friday broke out in the shop of Mrs Gleesou, which was burnt down, and the shop occupied by Mr Montgomery, a bootmaker, was gutted. Mrs Gleeson had no insurance beyond £IOO on the building in the South British. Her stock and furniture all went.
