Post Office Notice.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin (subject to any necessary alterations), as under:— For Northern Ports, overland, daily, at 10.30 a.m., C.P.O. Late letters, mail van, North train, at 11 a.m.

Tuesday, August 6. For Northern Ports.—Overland to Christchurch (to connect with the Corinna at Lyttelton).

Wednesday, August 7. For Southland. Australian Colonies, India, China, Japan, Mediterranean ports. Straits Settlements, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, Mauritius, and South Africa. Per Talune, at 1.50 p.m. , . Money orders (for Australian Colonies only), registered letters, books, and newspapers at 12.50 p.m. Cate letters. Port train, at 2.30 p.m. Parcels post mails for the Australian Colonies will close at 4 p.m. on the 6 th. For Northern Ports.—Per Flora, at 2.20 p.m. Late letters, C.P.0., at 2 30 p.m. For Northern Ports and Australian colonies,— Per Hauroto, at 3.20 p.m. Late letters, C.P.0., at 3.30 p.m. SAN FRANCISCO MAIL SERVICE.

Wepnesdav, August 7. For Northern Ports, Samoa, Sandwich Islands, United States of America, Canada, South America, West Indies, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, at 10 a.m. Money orders at 9.15 a.m.; book packets and newspapers at 9 a.m. Registered correspondence atsp.ra. on Tuesday, Late letters, bearing an additional single rate of postage (2id) as a late fee, can be posted in the mail van attached to the North train, leaving Dunedin railway station at 11 a.m. on the 7th. The above mail will close at the Branch Post Offices, North Dunedin and South Dunedin, for money orders and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 6th, letters at 9.30 a.m., and newspapers at 5 a.m. on the 7th. At the Port Chalmers Office at 8.45 a.m. on the 7th ; money orders at 4 p.m., and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 6th.

Mails close at Sydney for Noumea on August 7. Mails for Puysegur Point and Cromarty will close at Invercargill on Thursday, Bth August at flails for Fiji, per Upolu, on Thursday, 15th, at Auckland ; also for Sandwich Islands, Canada, United States, United Kingdom, etc. (connecting with Vancouver liner Miowera at Fiii).
