AUCKLAND, May 10. At the City Council meeting last night a letter was received asking an extension of the tramway company's lease. The company would, if the request be granted, probably take over existing lines and establish electric traction and electric lighting, and extend the tram system to Parncll and Ouehunga. The cost of electric traction alone would be i' 90,000.
