FIRES.

One hundred and aixty bags of wheat, covered with straw, on the farm of John Brown, of Speargrasß Flat, near Arrowtown, were damaged by fire about two o'clock on Saturday morning. The loss is estimated at LSO, and there was no insurance. A barn and stable, belonging to Thomas Muir, of Blue Mountains (Palmerston), were destroyed by fire on Saturday night. It ia supposed that the fire was accidentally caused. The amount of the insurance is not known. _^__^_
