A PRISONER ESCAPES.

WELLINGTON, April 25,

A burglar entered the Panama Hotel, Ingestre street, early this morning, but knocked over a table before he had procured any spoil, and aroused some of the inmates, who gave chase. Two of the • New Zealand Times' compositors were passing at tho time the culprit ran out of the hotel, and they managed to capture him, and banded him over to a constable. Before the police Btation was reached the man slipped his handcuffs and cleared out, and has not yet been rearrested.
