A tite haß been secured at Westminster for a memorial cathedral in honor of the late Cardinal Manning, ' Tho Times ' says that the defeat of the Labor paity has hardened Viotorian stocks. Tho French steamer Canada . entered Paerto Cabello, in Venezuela, at night. The Government troops mistook her for a rebel vessel and received her with a rifle volley, to the greot terror of the passengers. Nobody, however, was injured, and the authorities have apologised. A liquor exhibition is to be held at Dublin in August. One eection of the prizes is devoted to Australian wines. Tallow is unchanged. Tho Euglish wheat market is steady, while the Continental has a buoyant inclination, and tho American is declining. For Australian wheat, off tho coast, sellers arc asking 37* 3d, but buyers will not give more than 30s 3d.
