THE POSTAL CONFERENCE. HOBART, Mabch 8. (Received March 8, 1892, at noon.) Among the subjects to be brought before the Postal Convention are the advisability of deputing one colony to conduct communications with tbe International Bureau at Berne; transmission by post of dutiable articles; a proposal by Great Britain to assimilate Australian postages to those adopted in the United Kingdom this year; uniformity and responsibility with regard to registered articlea; consideration of the Pacific cable question; and the consolidation of the post and telegraph Acts of the various colonies with a view to uniformity.

A DISABLED STEAMER.

The Flora, from Adelaide, which was reported outside yesterday disabled, has arrived. The face of her high-pressure cylinder is broken. A PACIFIC CABLE. SYDNEY, Makch 8. The company which proposes to lay the Pacific cable is tbe Sooietd Fratctise des Telegraph Sousmarins. Captain Audley Coote has had an interview wtih PostmasterGeneral Kidd. The latter is not at present favorably inclined towards the proposal to give a subsidy of L 2.000 per annum, but will discuss the matter with the PostmasterGeneral of Queensland this week.

THE VICTORIAN CABINET. MELBOURNE, Mabch 8. The Premier does not intend to supply the places of the Council representatives in tbe Ministry who have resigned till after the coming election.
