CITY POLICE COURT. (Before Messrs C. Allen and J, P. Jones, J.P.s.) Breach of the Peace.— Edward Martin and Richard King were charged with, on the 29th December, in Great King street, behaving in a manner whereby a breach of the peace was occasioned.—Mr Hanlon appeared for King, who pleaded not guilty. Martin did not appear. Sergeant-major Bavin said that the principal witness in this case a man named Roach, who was assaulted—had left the town, aud as he had not been found it would be necessary to have an adjournment. —Mr Hanlon objected, saying that it was very unfair that the charge should be kept hanging over his client’s head, fie also remarked upon the tact that Roach, who was virtually the prosecutor, did not appear. —The Bench granted au adjournment to Tuesday. Wandering Horse, For allowing a horse to wander in the North-east Valley, Yeung Chung was fined 5s and costs.
