MUNICIPAL.
Cavebshau,—The Borough Council last night decided not to join the Municipal Association. The Finance Committee’s recommendation that Mr Bell’s offer for the supply of dog collars, at the same price as last year, be accepted, was adopted, —lt was resolved to make up the Main South road at the end of the loop line of tramway to a uniform level with the rails. To do this work, the inspector reported, wonld require about thirty yards of metal.—The resignation of Mr J. M‘Donald as ranger and ponndkeeper was accepted, and it was decided to write to Inspector Hickson asking him to allow the police to take action against the owners of stray cattle. —Mr Wm. Bridgman wrote acknowledging a vote of thanks passed at the last meeting of the Council, and expressing his high appreciation thereof. It waa resolved: “ That the letter bo received, and that the Council express their regret at the retirement of Mr Bridgman, and hope (bat he will soon see his way to return to the Council,"
